The EMR is a template-based system that is customizable in order to meet the needs of various medical specialties. The templates can include macros, free text fields, or choice lists. The pre-defined macros and choice lists help reduce documentation time in order to focus on patient care.
The Doctor's Desktop is a tool that providers use to monitor patients and records. This helps the provider keep track of patient care at a quick glance.
The Nurses' Station is the screen that nurses/caregivers use to examine patient flow as well as work flow.
The preventive care tool allows offices to view and track all procedures, immunizations, etc... that the patient has been given or needs to be given on a future date.
A work item is a "tickler" or "to do list" item for a patient that can be assigned to a caregiver (nurse or doctor), patient or mailbox. For example, an item that may be included on a work item list is to give a referral to a patient or to remember to ask the patient if they have quit smoking the next time they return for a visit.
A phone note is a routable chart entry that can be signed off by any caregiver. It simply means that a patient has called in for a specific reason and it needs to be documented. It could be that the patient has requested a refill, referral, or has a medical question.
Prescriptions are created using the drug database. The drug database checks interactions in three ways: patient to drug, drug to drug and drug to allergy. For convenience, a prescription can be handwritten, printed or faxed.
The lab test result window allows the user to input detailed results for a lab test. Lab Results can be manually entered or entered electronically via HL7 interface.
The front of the patient chart includes a quick overview of patient demographics, patient photo (optional), Current Medications, Active Problems, Allergies and Work Items.
A chart entry is a group of templates. The templates contain fields that can include macros, choice lists or free text fields.
The area of the chart in which, all images are stored. The image categories and the number of images in each category appear. A preview of the images is available.
"Mountainside's EMR allows my medical records to meet all of the documentation requirements of third party payers.... Mountainside Software provides excellent service support"

"One of the most intriguing aspects of an EMR is the ability to simplify those tasks that otherwise take incredible amounts of staff time and office resources. I have found that Mountainside's prescription module is simple, powerful, and functional. Gone are the days of my staff madly searching for missing charts, of guessing when refills are due, or angering patients by having them wait for days or longer for their medications. Mountainside's EMR simplifies this process, and every moment not spent on these activities is better spent caring for patients. The process couldn't be easier. Medications are chosen from a database of over 9,000 medications, and the program performs a quick search for interactions and prescribing considerations. Directions, amounts and refills are quickly entered, and with another click of the mouse, the prescription is instantly sent to a printer or faxed to a pharmacy. I can't believe that we ever ran an office without it...."

"I have used EMR in my allergy practice for over 15 years and the entire group of Mountainside allergy products for almost 10 years. The Mountainside products have consistently paid for themselves in terms of reduced dictation costs, increased revenue through optimal billing, and a happier staff due to smoother office operations and communication. We are using the entire suite of products by Mountainside including their allergy/immunotherapy module, billing/front office module and electronic medical records. Each has worked very well together and I particularly like having the entire office operation at my fingertips. The support staff at Mountainside has been a particular plus; always pleasant and immediately responsive to any system mishaps. I strongly recommend the staff and software at Mountainside for an allergy office of any size."
